Madidima Primary School

Madidima Primary School is a small Zulu community primary school located in the Mbolwane area of Eshowe, Uthungulu District, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The school had around 100 pupils in June 2006. Due to the state of poverty in the region, the school has only one classroom (though another is under construction), and very basic facilities.

Visit from English Students

In the Spring of 2005, 23 students from Wallington County Grammar School visited the school, donating sports equipment, stationary, books and a small amount of money. They also spent some time teaching English words to the children, entertaining them, and talking with teachers and representatives of the education department.

New classroom and facilities

Due to the fundraising [1] by students of Wallington County Grammar School (who raised £8,285.97) along with Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School and Bexley Grammar School, Madidima Primary School was able to begin the construction of a new classroom, and the installation of new facilities in mid-2006.
